Brugge Plus wants to be an important organizer of outdoor events all year long.
In order to accomplish this we build bridges between culture and tourism.

Our goals are as much economic as they are artistic and social. Tourism is an important economic sector in Bruges. Brugge Plus wants to make sure the city is attractive to both Belgian  and foreign visitors by organizing “reason to go” projects. However, all these projects do have an artistic element as well. The products must be of excellent quality in accordance to the cultural and touristic image Bruges wants to show. The events are aimed at the inhabitants and the international visitors of Bruges alike and are accessible for a lot of people.

By organizing Bruges, European Capital of Culture 2002, we already proved that events are instrumental  to invigorate a city.

After a successful Brugge 2002 and Corpus 2005, the City council has decided to organize a large scale festival every five years. Those festivals must become landmarks in the cultural life of Bruges. In 2010 Brugge Centraal was organized and the central theme was the link between Bruges and Eastern Europe.
