Bruges has a long tradition of gastronomy. In total, Bruges has 14 Michelin stars thanks to restaurants as De Karmeliet***, Hertog Jan***, De Jonkman**, Danny Horseele**, A’Qi*, Sans Cravate*, Den Gouden Harynck* and De Herborist*. So it is justified when we say Bruges is the Eldorado for connoisseurs. 9 of those 14 stars are represented at Kookeet.

At the end of September the third edition of Kookeet will take place. This year we have changed locations from the Markt square to ‘t Zand square so we can ensure a better service towards our visitors. But we haven’t changed the concept. Star chef Geert Van Hecke of De karmeliet*** is still the godfather of Kookeet and in cooperation with top chef Patrick Devos and quality chocolate maker Dominique Persoone, he will guard the quality of the event. The 29 participating Bruges chefs are, without exception, all part of the culinary elite, with one or several Michelin stars, a Bib Gourmand mention or a high score with Gault & Millau. They will give you the chance to taste some very exquisite hors d’oeuvre.

In the stylish tent village on ‘t Zand square you will be able to choose from a wide range of culinary hors d’oeuvres. There will also be a special tent with cooking demonstrations by the participating top chefs. Come and enjoy the atmosphere, discover some culinary novelties, but above all let us surprise you with a wide range of fine cooking at democratic prices.

Wout Bru (c) Frank Croes This year, we welcome Wout Bru to be our visiting chef at Kookeet. Since 1997 the Belgian chef has his own successful restaurant in the French Provence: Chez Bru*. He is a former student of the Ter Groene Poorte catering college and we all know him in Flanders thanks to tv programs such as ‘Mijn restaurant’, ‘Masterchef’ and ‘Junior Masterchef’.
On December 9, 2012 he opened a temporary pop-up restaurant in Antwerp called 117.

Opening hours
Saturday 28, Sunday 29 and Monday 30 September starting from 11:00.
Food is available until 21:00. The bar will close at 21:30.
Access to the tent village is free of charge.  

Tent village on ’t Zand
In the stylish tent village on ’t Zand there is room for thirty food stalls, two wine stalls, a central, covered zone, a Champagne bar and a tent for the free cooking demonstrations. There are also toilets (not free) on ’t Zand.


Prices
The dishes cost 4, 6 or 8 Euros. Tokens cost 2 Euros each and can be used for both food and drink. There are cash desks at ’t Zand. We accept cash, Bancontact (Maestro), Visa and MasterCard.
Tokens will be sold from 11:00 until 20:30. 
Purchased tokens will not be reimbursed.
Ticket sales (drinks and food) starts on September 3 with In&Uit Brugge, the participating restaurants or online at www.ticketsbrugge.be. Tickets are also available during the event (cash/Mastercard/Visa/Maestro)
